About
Wayne Card is an experienced Architectural Technician based and working from his office in Shaftesbury, Dorset.
Wayne started in architecture in 1990 where he worked for an Architects practice based in Dorset for 10 years where he built up his experience in Architecture, After this time he decided to venture out on his own to work with his own clients.
Even with the office based in Dorset, Wayne has worked with clients across the south of the country which allows experience with most Local Authorites for the Planning and Building Regulation stages.
Wayne has built up a good relationship with Structural Engineers, Ecologist's, Land Surveyors and Builders to assist throughout any kind of project or if preferred happy to work alongside your own consultants.
Over the years the client base has varied from Individual Homeowners, Building Contractors, Developers, Electrical and Mechanical Contractors and Conservatory Installers.
Projects have varied from conservatories to Orangery Style Extensions, Small to Large Extensions, One off to Multiple Housing, Blocks of Flats and Conversion Projects.
Wayne also works with larger Architectural Practices where a Freelance Service is offered to assist in companies current workload.
Projects vary from the Extensions to Dwelling Works, New and Conversion work to Schools, Medical Centres and Church Conversions.
Services
1. Initial Site Meeting.
I will visit your property to discuss the proposals and offer advice on your requirements.
Once the visit is complete I will prepare a fee quotation to cover works as agreed.
Many clients prefer to appoint for the obtaining approvals only, these being the Planning and Building Regulations only.
The full service is available where required.
3. Scheme Drawings.
Once the survey is complete, I will produce a scheme drawing to suit your requirements and further optional schemes where appropriate.
Subject to the type of project, these scheme drawings can be used for the Pre-Application advice from the Local Authority.
5. Building Regulations.
Once Planning Approval obtained, I will prepare a set of building regulation drawings showing the construction of the works and submit these to the Local Authority for approval.
These drawings are also suitable to the builders to price for the construction works.
2. Site Survey.
Once fee's are agreed I will carry out a measured survey of the existing property along with photos and produce the as existing drawing which is prepared on a CAD system.
Where a land survey is required, I will organise for a land survey to be carried out for this work.
4. Planning.
Once the final scheme drawing is approved, I will prepare the final planning drawing and necessary statements and submit to the Local Authority.
I will discuss the process of the application with the appointed planning officer during the application process.
6. Tender & Supervision.
Along with the Building Regulation drawings I can prepare a Tender document to enable a selection of Builders to price the works.
Once a Builder is appointed I can offer the service of Site Supervision to oversee the construction works if required.
Freelance Service.
I also work on a freelance basis for many other larger Architectural Practices to assist in preparing drawings for both Planning and Building Regulations, Electrical Contractors for the as fitted electrical layout drawings and Conservatory Suppliers for planning applications where required.
